Boombastic heavyweight mixtape from Kimmoko (of Jyväskylä) and Kauhu-I (of Temppeli). Just pure conscious heavyweight vibes one after the other. One of my favs on this one is Pablo Gad’s Coke Addict version (starts around 20:20), that’s just a blazing digital style riddim!
The heavyweight swiss soundsystem crew O.B.F., aka Original Bass Foundation and Danman on the conscious vocals on this modern steppers classic. Published as a 12″ on O.B.F. Records just 4 years back. Ruff and tuff.
Fyah a go bun dis ya babylon!
ps. If you have an extra copy of this one, gimme a holla!
JahYu: the Korean word for ‘freedom’, this is an artist whose music is rooted in the notion of freedom, freedom of sound, freedom of expression, freedom from mind and freedom of the soul. JahYu uses his creative freedom to connect directly with his ancestors and create music that somehow transports the listener through time and space. Oriental flute and string melodies slide effortlessly amongst powerful roots-based dubstep, creating a sound that is unique and full of flavour. This Korean-German producer blends both sides of his heritage, the digital steppers that emerged from Europe in the 1990’s alongside the traditional oriental music of his mother’s homeland, Korea, augmented by a deeper exploration of contemporary bass music. – JahYu-fb
Dub Dynasty aka Alpha & Omega Meets Alpha Steppa’s much anticipated second album. Dub Dynasty’s 2013 debut ‘Unrelenting Force’ received critical acclaim with support from media platforms such as Q Magazine, Mixmag, Wire, BBC and Rinse FM to name a few. Dub Dynasty once again deliver an international line-up featuring vocalists and instrumentalists from around the globe; UK, USA, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Italy, Ireland, Spain and Suriname. With diverse contributions ranging from the soulful vocals of Wellette Seyon, Cian Finn and Prince David, to the militant chants of N’goni and Ras Tinny, traversing the enchanting flute melodies of Don Fe to the spoken word teachings of internationally recognised spiritual guru Mooji. This album is a musical journey to be experienced both at home and at soundsystem sessions across the globe. –steppas.com

Frenchtown Hifi is a real heavyweight 2CD-release featuring top-notch french dubs by various dubartists like Jacin, Val Dawa, Ackboo and Fu Steps… This mix features the dub versions. The whole set is available on iTunes and on Spotify too.
The productions have a distinctive ‘french’ touch, mostly defined by a roots and dub stepper sound, but are spread out across the whole spectrum, ranging from Ackboo’s heavy “Lef Mi Nuh Babylon” to the mellow and conscious “Rise Up” by Inner Rose. There are also a few digital injections, courtesy of Creation Culture. -wordsoundandpower

Jah Shaka the mighty Zulu Warrior, a living legend of UK Roots and Dub has been around Soundsystem since the beginning and is still playing regular sessions. This groundbreaking stepper dub tune titled Warrior Style is just what the title says – Warrior Style.
