Something a bit different this time. King Robby’s brand new album High as the trees has a nice chilled vibe to it and will make you smile. Perfect for lazy sunday mornings and chilling at home when it’s raining outside. Here’s what the album info says:
This is feel good music. Playing in the sprinklers. Day off work. First kiss. Warm hug. Crisp cold watermelon. Home cooked meal. Drinks with friends. Vacation from the everyday music. King Robby originally started as a dubbing project for the album Madness by Professor. The first half of that album includes the original versions of the song and the second half are the dub versions by King Robby. The album was produced by Harrison Stafford of Groundation and features some of the best musicians in Jamaica, including Horsemouth, Bernard Collins and U-Roy. In 2014, Stafford and King Robby collaborate again for the album Natty Will Fly Again (NWFA). King Robby dubbed the songs in addition to mixing duties for the entire album. NWFA features the vocals of Ashanti Roy, Pablo Moses, and Winston Jarrett. Working out of his own Reasoning Studio, King Robby (Rob Cross) blends his love for Dub, Reggae, Trip-Hop and Electronic music into an evolution of dub sound.
