One question that is often asked by many customers with debt problems that have been or are still in arrears is “How long is the credit card blacklist ?”. Many people ask this because they feel anxious about the collectability of their credit.
Note: As of January 2018, the entire BI Checking process to obtain a Historical IDI can no longer be accessed through Bank Indonesia. You can get it through the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in the Financial Information Service System (SLIK)
Credit Card Blacklist Deleted in Only 2 Years. It is true?
Before discussing more about credit card blacklist how long, you must first understand some terminology related to BI Checking . Usually if you will apply for any type of loan, the bank will first check your data into the Bank Indonesia Debtor Information System (SID). The process of checking the status of the smooth payment is referred to as BI Checking. Then, the results / output of the BI Checking process are referred to as Historical IDI.
Historical IDI itself usually only displays the status of smooth payment for the last 24 months (2 years) only. Unfortunately, many misinterpret it, and assume that BI’s blacklist status will only last for 2 years (24 months), and the debtor’s name (customer) will be clean by itself.
Even though in fact, the data stored by BI will continue to shift automatically according to the development of arrears status in the following months. So, as long as you have not paid off the arrears, your name will still be poorly registered in the Bank Indonesia Debtor Information System (SID) and attached to the Historical IDI.
Because, the bank where you made the payment arrears will continue to update the data periodically to the Bank Indonesia Debtor Information System (SID). So if anyone asks how long the credit card blacklist , then the answer is there is no time limit, as long as you have not paid off arrears, then your name will still be registered badly. Complete your obligation to pay for all of the credit arrears you have until they are completely finished and paid off.
“How long is the credit card blacklist ? There is no time limit, as long as you have not paid off the arrears, then your name will still be registered badly.”
What if you have paid off?
History (history) that has been recorded by the Debtor Information System will basically still record if you have done delinquency in the past. But there is no need to worry, if you have paid off the remaining arrears that have happened, then usually your data will still be updated and be clean again. Usually your data will also be accompanied by information on how to pay off by the debtor.
Because you have made a payment and your name has been cleared, then at a time like this you can get access to apply for loans to various banks. To further solidify your status at Bank Indonesia after paying off all the remaining arrears, it is better to ask for proof of repayment from the bank in the form of a Declaration Letter (SKL) from the bank. This Declaration (SKL) will be evidence that you can use, to indicate that the arrears status that has occurred in the past has been completely resolved and your name has returned clean.
How to free BI blacklist
As explained above, your new name will be free from BI blacklist as soon as you pay off all the remaining arrears that are still running until paid off and complete. Unfortunately, the problem that is often encountered is that many debtors / customers do not want to pay off, many of which are inadvertently caught in debt due to the disappearance of sources of income. There are various main reasons why someone is in debt, for example, losing a family’s backbone, losing a job (the company where he works to cut employees), being hit by a disaster, or a business that goes bankrupt.
To overcome this, you can use 3 types of bank programs that can ease your burden in paying off debts that are still running:
One-time discount / discount
This type of relief program allows customers to reduce their total debt to smaller amounts. As the name implies, even though the customer gets a discount in his debt, they must pay directly in one payment.
Extended Installments with Low Interest
Unlike the one-time discount program, this one program is suitable for those who are financially less. In short, customers who have credit card arrears or KTA arrears can extend their installment tenure to be lighter, the interest earned is lower than the prevailing interest rate in general.
Another program with this one, this type of program is a combination of the two types of programs above, namely customers get a discount and the remaining payments can be made in installments. The bank will also see the conditions experienced by the customer first. If the customer has supporting conditions that make it more difficult to pay off the debt, then it is likely that they can get this program (provided that the bank in question has the program).
Once you have successfully repaid the arrears with one of the 3 types of relief programs above, your data will be returned cleanly in the Bank Indonesia Debtor Information System (SID). Later, your data will be recorded with the label “paid off with a relief program”, its function is to provide information to other banks about how you are paying off.
To get the relief program above, you can ask for help from a company that provides debt management program services. Companies like this usually have experienced teams that are professional in helping you to strategize in paying off debt. Not to mention if you have multiple debts in various banks at the same time, of course a company that provides a debt management program can help you to formulate a strategy and decide which type of arrears must be completed in advance according to the financial conditions that you have. One of the companies that you can use is Tituba.

This program is designed so that consumers who are in debt, have the ability to control their finances again. Tituba Indonesia helps clients through a debt management program, specifically designed to suit different needs for each client.
